The Washington
Advisory Group Conducts Fourth Workshop on Eye Disease and Related
Therapies
The fourth in a
series of workshops on eye disease and related therapies was
conducted by the Washington Advisory Group, June 11-14, 2005 at
Rancho Valencia in California. The topic of this programs is “Eye
Diseases in Divergent Populations” Twenty eminent experts in the
field of ophthalmology participated in the discussions. The group
focused on the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and clinical
management of Myopia, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Age
Related Macular Degeneration. The meeting and report is co-chaired
by Drs. Gerald Chader of the Doheny Eye Institute and Bronwyn
Bateman of the Rocky Mountain Eye Institute.

The Washington Advisory Group Study for University of Texas Institutions
Accepted by the Board of Regents
The Board of Regents of the University System of Texas approved the
study completed by The Washington Advisory Group recommending how
eight UT System universities can improve and expand their research
capacity. In a press release issued May 13, 2004, Board Chairman Charles
Miller called the study one of the most important reports weve
